FJG & AEA

Every year I attend the annual meeting of the Association for Education and Ageing which incorporates the Frank Glendenning Memorial Lecture. This year it was given by Lesley Hart, founder of the Senior Studies Institute at the University of Strathclyde who went on to establish a Centre for Lifelong Learning in Glasgow. As always I had the pleasure of listening to Frank’s colleagues’ recollections of him and the role he played in establishing the association and the Journal of Education and Ageing. Professor Brian Groombridge, a guru in the field of education and ageing, sits beside me.
