My Supporters Joan
Bakewell,
writer and broadcaster “God
Speed, Angela! – This is a worthwhile venture of the highest order. Many will
benefit from your generosity and dedication”
From Joan's Column in The Guardian Newspaper September 2004 Angela Glendenning is into far greater extremities of effort. Hitting her 70th birthday in December, she plans to celebrate - if that's the word - by setting herself feats of physical achievement that would daunt the most reckless. Her plan goes in sevens: 70 miles walking; 70 miles cycling; seven miles canoeing; seven miles riding. And that's not the end: seven tors on Dartmoor; speaking in seven churches ... and so it goes on. And all this on one kidney. Angela recently donated a kidney to her niece Sarah and is doing all this to raise not only money but the profile of the Organ Donor Register. Ahmed
